Give Us Daily Bread
The following are my Bible study notes based on my pastor's sermon.
Our scripture reference for today is Matthew 6:11.
Give us our daily bread.Bread = God’s Word, Spiritual Nourishment
“Soul” Food
Bread = God’s Family
They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Acts 2:42Bread = Jesus Christ
Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me will not hunger, and he who believes in Me will never thirst. John 6:351. God is my source.
A Great Giver
Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow. James 1:17A Great Provider
And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19A Great Inviter
Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. Matthew 7:7
You lust and do not have; so you commit murder. You are envious and cannot obtain; so you fight and quarrel. You do not have because you do not ask. James 4:22. God wants our trust.
We shouldn’t worry.
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. Philippians 4:6When I trust God, I’ll be thankful.
Cease from anger and forsake wrath; Do not fret; it leads only to evildoing. Psalm 37:8
The steadfast of mind You will keep in perfect peace, Because he trusts in You. Isaiah 26:3
In everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:183. God wants us to share.
