Have you read my latest short stories?

In case you haven't heard, I've built another website to showcase my books and short stories.  I'm not leaving this blog.  I love this space and I have no intention to leave it. You'll still find new content featuring all things faith, family, food, and fun here, while my other blog will focus on devotional content and inspirational short stories.  The new blog is also much less commercial than Abundant Family Living.  TinaTruelove.com will operate mostly on reader donations (never required) and limited ads.  Since the other blog is new, you might not have read my latest short stories so I thought I would pass them on to you here in sort of a round up post.  I hope you enjoy them.  If you do, you can subscribe to TinaTruelove.com here.

Jenny's Journey from Darkness to Light

Short Stories: Jenny's Journey from Darkness to Light
Jenny's Journey from Darkness to Light

Jenny sat near the front of the church, staring at the altar. The heaviness of grief that weighed on her shoulders was nearly unbearable. Her eyes burned from the tears, and her chest hurt as if her grief had sucked all the air right out of her lungs. Her mother, Ruth, had been her biggest fan, her most expressive cheerleader in life, her one constant source of steadiness in a life already rich in hardship. Jenny’s young life had been lived more in darkness than light.  Read more . . .

Carl and Catherine's First Christmas Together
Carl took Catherine’s hand and led them in a prayer. “Father God, Catherine and I miss our home and our families. We never expected to be separated from them so quickly. We certainly didn’t expect a sudden move to the desert. We don’t know why you brought us here, but we know you are Lord over our marriage and are with us wherever life takes us. Help us to use our journey to Your glory. We surrender fully to you to serve as missionaries wherever You and the United States Marines take us. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.”

Carl and Catherine sat on their couch, admiring their tiny little tree. They dreamed about their future together, all the Christmases they would spend together, all the wonderful things God had prepared for them, and they couldn’t wait to live it.  Read the full story . .

God’s hand was evident in the lives of the people Amy, Gwen, and Marcus touched.

Before moving to Hope Bend, Amy had agreed to take a temporary journey. At the time, she had no idea where it would lead. Now she knew that sometimes, God’s sweetest plans for His children are hidden in the unexpected. For the rest of her life, whenever she heard someone say, “I wasn’t expecting that,” she would remind them that God did expect it and His timing and His plans are always perfect.  Read the full story . . .

I Remember:  Echoes from the Past
As Steven drove the car away from the creek, onto the roadway, and headed out of town, Susan looked at the little basket she had placed in their car when she walked out of her childhood home for the last time. The balls of yarn smiled back at her in shades of soft pinks and purples. Her grandmother’s silver crochet hook protruding from one of the pink balls. Susan smiled, appreciating the memories of growing up in Cedar Creek with parents, a grandmother, friends, and a church family who had taught her to love Jesus and love fiercely. She patted her tummy, looked up to Heaven, and whispered, “I Remember.” Then, as a tear spilled from her eye and rolled down her cheek, she said to her little growing bundle of joy, “Hey you. I’m going to make you a blanket with your great-grandmother’s hook and her yarn, and I have a lot of stories to tell you."  Read the full story . . .
